Over the last few years, I have written several times about the benefits of meditaion, various institutions that are encouraging the practice of meditation and even Deepak Chopra’s previous 21 day meditaion event.
Meditation offers benefits to the entire world! The other day, I got an email from my son’s teacher. She mentioned that they had done a mindset exercise. With the Carol Dweck Growth Mindset Theory, as a base for thought, kids worked on seeing their effort and positive attitude as the keys to their testing success. To provide a physical resource for managing academic stress, the students did a 30 minute “mindfulness” activity, relaxing different parts of the body and creating a safe place within their imagination that they could go to when needed. My daughter had learned the technique last year, and loved it.
