For years, I was able to make a living as an actress but to tell the truth, I never used to like taking pictures. I always felt awkward because I never felt attractive enough. It’s crazy to think that I spent years being insecure but it’s also very REAL and very COMMON.
At 46, I can finally say I like myself. I like the way I look. I like who I am. So what changed?
Over the years I’ve learned to focus on the things I like about myself. I’ve learned to set goals (and create affirmations around those goals) to appreciate where I am and motivate myself to move forward.
A big part of that has come from just getting comfortable with who I am as a woman and as a sensual being. This comfort has little to do with size or shape and everything to do with mindset.
This brings me to the title of this post. Do It Yourself beauty. If you are like me, you have been your worse critic and need to re-learn how to like yourself. Take care of yourself. Take pictures. Learn to light, pose, or dress your best and do it for YOU. You can share the pictures or not. THAT is entirely up to you but whatever your style, gender, orientation, race, size… you DESERVE to feel beautiful. You ARE beautiful. You already are all the things you’ve longed to be. Stop WAITING to come out. Just be. Just be all that you are and you will be beautiful. The coolest thing happens, when you allow YOURSELF to be beautiful, you bring it out in others. I am so grateful for my female followers. The women losing weight or finishing school or leaving hurtful situations, these are my beautiful heroes.
If you like this, I wrote a post about visual mindfulness that you should read as well. If you are REALLY feeling this and you want to work with me personally email me, or find me on Facebook (put the word COACHING in the first line) and let’s talk about how I can help you find your way to loving yourself enough to live the life of your dreams.
As always peace and blessings.
