1) I wake up before everyone else. There are various opinions on the subject but truth be told, I don’t know when or how I became a morning person. For me, there is something so serene and inherently spiritual about the quiet time of the morning.
2) THANK YOU is the first phrase uttered out of my mouth. I will mention that this, is HABIT. If you have not conditioned yourself to find something to be grateful for, you are likely missing out on some truly delicious life experiences.
3) Meditate. Great mornings begin with a quick body scan… What’s a body scan? It’s a 5-10 minute conscious connection of body/mind/spirit. Listen to my soundcloud example below.
After my scan, I can pray, stretch or go onto my regularly scheduled rip and run through life but I have committed to taking care of myself first. It took me a long time time to come to peace with the “me first” mentality. But now I know that I cannot serve anyone else unless I have the fuel myself.
