Our gifts or talents are not always recognized right away. We are all unique and sometimes, we are in circumstances that don’t allow our talents to shine. But if we pay attention, we can see how over the years, we are given the chance to develop our gifts and if we allow ourselves the chance to use them, we can really build an amazing life. I have shared many times that for years, I suffered through a period of anxiety and depression. In desperation I found myself hunting for ways to claim my wellness. Having tried almost everything that came my way, I am happy to report that my search ultimately resulted in an anxiety and panic attack free existence. I wanted to share a little on forgiveness because it is something that I think not only had the biggest impact on my life but also something that I am discovering continues to add to the quality of my everyday life. We don’t always know what our purpose is but when we do, and pursue it with passion… magic happens.
|Operation Hydration SF Valley|
Operation Hydration started out as a simple mission to do something good. We just wanted to hydrate the homeless in Los Angeles during the summer of 2016. The project grew beyond our wildest expectations and a full documentary is now part of the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles as a Public Art project. Operation Hydration has served hundreds of cases of water in over 10 cities across the nation!!! The Let’s Be Whole team is blown away by the efforts of all the people that have stepped up to serve and WE LOVE being part of this mission to Hydrate the Homeless. We have met people from all walks of life and we all feel that the gift of service is like no other.
Operation Hydration in Pomona was exceptional. @cholapinup facilitated this event and the collection and pass out of over 50 cases was incredible. Pomona’s homeless situation is dismal. There are families that live out in the hills. It doesn’t matter to me where you have been in life.we all have a story… What matters to me is your heart. Thank to those who participated in this mission. I love showing the world the beauty of my community!
I like starting off my morning with infused water. I have always loved water but I was surprised to find that for my age, body weight, physical activity level and weather conditions, I was drinking only HALF of my personal daily requirement! To find out how much water I should be drinking, I used the hydration calculator at Camelbak.
I took on the challenge of drinking more water by expanding my base of “go to” infusions. So far, I have used ginger, citrus, berries, mint and cucumber but there are UNLIMITED possibilities. Check out http://www.infusedwaters.com/ for some great tips and recipes.
I bought this wide-mouthed water bottle and LOVE it but a mason jar or other recycled GLASS jars would work just as well to make the same kinds of delicious infused waters they serve at spas.
To your health!!!
If you don’t live in an area that is as lush as the Redwoods, find a park, a beach or river, a mountain, a farmer’s market… You get the idea. Look for places to collect the sights, sounds and scents of nature. Listen to what I find on my hikes through the hood.
Don’t be afraid to explore! When you search, you may be surprised by what you find.
Research has revealed that meditation can actually change our brain. People in one study showed changes in gray-matter density in parts of the brain associated with memory, learning, sense of self, empathy, and stress. My kids learned to meditate in elementary school and it was really good for them. I am really excited that more schools are employing these simple tools to help kids focus.
One of the best uses of time is to treat your body well. This shake is delicious and oh so good for me and the kids. Coconut water, kale, bananas, pineapple, mango and orange. #Hemp #Organic
I have been a fan of Hemp for most of my life. Research has shown that Hemp is not just a plant for “hippie pot heads” but in fact offers many benefits to the overall health of our bodies and the planet.
- Hemp Protein is a Complete Protein
- Easy to Digest
- Source of Good Fats
- Earth Friendly
It’s seems every year flu season is turning into something crazy. There are tons of ways to boost our immune systems so that we are better prepared for bugs trying to invade. More and more, I am seeing advertising for natural medicine solutions. Including the graphic to the right, a campaign that encourages Americans to open their refrigerators instead of their medicine cabinets.
Not listed here is GARLIC. Garlic has power, it is antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral. Also missing is Green tea – Shown in studies as natural anti-viral and antibacterial remedy.
If you want to learn more about natural remedies, I HIGHLY recommend Ema’s Herbs. You will find more than just flu fighters as a matter of fact you may be shocked by how many remedies are available for things you didn’t even know you could treat, naturally. You can follow them on Facebook visit their website.
Started watching this doc and was really fascinated.
I use electronics EVERYDAY. Do you? This is the full one and a half hour film and I recommend a watch.
