Let’s face it. Latina’s are known for their firey hot tempers. This may be a stereotype but the truth is that as we take on more challenging roles in our lives, we sometimes just need some help in managing our stress. Stress is simply the body’s response to changes when under pressure. Responses to “bad” stress or distress can manifest in our bodies and minds as:
- High blood pressure
For those of us that have suffered through any of these conditions, we have tried to manage and even abolish stress from our lives but…
Stress is not always a bad thing!
Did you know that there is “good stress”? The actual term for it is Eustress (Ironically sounds like YouStress)
Eustress, or positive stress, has the following characteristics:
- Focuses energy.
- Feels exciting.
- Improves performance.
When I work with clients, part of my job is to help them transition their DISTRESS into EUSTRESS. Often the difference between good stress and bad stress is a simple mindset adjustment. But because the mindset is new, it takes a little getting used to.

|Public speaking.||PERFORM at our best when we work or play.
DEVELOP NEW SKILLS especially where we have to
practice to improve.
|Rejection||Find the silver lining in something so we can grow.|
So, any time we are out of our comfort zones, but can understand that we are working towards something or we allow ourselves to feel excited or challenged in a good way, GOOD stress is at work.
